Tube Map

Take Exit 2 and turn left onto Whitechapel High St and then left onto Commercial Road. Turn Left onto Wentworth St. Petticoat Lane Market starts here.

B: Petticoat Lane Market
Petticoat Lane is renowned for its inexpensive fashion and household goods but this market has a definite ethnic vibe to it. I love the shops and stalls selling exotic clothes, jewellery and textiles. The street food here is good and low-priced. On Sundays this market is heaving. It's enormous, with more than 1000 stalls and the market covers both Wentworth and Middlesex Streets. Monday to Friday the stalls are confined to Wentworth Street. Don't try to find Petticoat Lane on a map. The name was prudishly changed around 1830 by the Victorians, to Middlesex Street.

C: Old Spitalfields Market
Old Spitalfields Market Is very different! It has high end shops surrounding hundreds of stalls in a covered market. These stalls sell quality fashion and hand crafted designer products. Old Spitalfields Market is open 7 days a week. See the website for events and special promotions.

The area surrounding Petticoat Lane and Old Spitalfields is definitely worth exploring. Have a look at the 1Minute Walks - Jack The Ripper Walk, London Street Art - Shoreditch Walk and A Great History Walk
